Prague Sounds celebrates its 30th anniversary not only through music, but also through meeting, sharing experience and looking to the future of culture. As part of this milestone edition, the festival will host a professional workshop with Michael M. Kaiser, one of the leading figures in international arts management.
How are arts organisations changing in a time of rapid transformation? How can they respond to new funding opportunities, technological developments, and changing audience expectations and preferences? And how can they build organisations with a strong, long-term artistic vision?
These and other questions will be explored in a professional workshop led by Michael M. Kaiser, Chairman of the DeVos Institute of Arts and Nonprofit Management. He will bring to Prague more than four decades of experience leading major cultural institutions, as well as extensive international experience working with arts organisations around the world.
Michael M. Kaiser has served, among other roles, as President of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Executive Director of the Royal Ballet and Opera, and Executive Director of American Ballet Theatre and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
In his teaching and consulting work, he also draws on his own model of success in the arts, known as The Cycle. Through this approach, he helps cultural organisations find ways to achieve sustainable development, build strong artistic programmes and develop lasting relationships with their audiences. Over the years, he has shared his experience with arts professionals and institutions in more than 80 countries.
The workshop is part of the 30th anniversary edition of Prague Sounds and offers a unique opportunity to meet a figure who has had a significant influence on the way cultural organisations are led and developed today.
