The Czech Association of Festivals has new leadership. The founder of Prague Sounds, Marek Vrabec, has become its president

10/2/2026

The Czech Association of Festivals (ČAF), the umbrella organization representing leading domestic showcases of live art across genres and artistic disciplines, is entering a new phase. Effective January 1, 2026, the position of president of the association has been assumed by Marek Vrabec, a respected music manager and founder of the Prague Sounds festival. He is joined in the association’s leadership by a newly elected team of vice presidents: Yvona Kreuzmannová, David Dittrich, Michal Schmidt, and Vilém Spilka, along with Secretary Juraj Gerbery.

Marek Vrabec succeeds the association’s long-standing leadership with a vision of strengthening the prestige of Czech festivals as a strategic component of Czech culture, intensifying dialogue with public administration and across all fields of live culture, and developing systemic cultural funding.

“It is an honor for me to take over the leadership of the association at a time when culture is facing new challenges as well as opportunities. Festivals are the crown jewels of our culture. Thanks to its multi-disciplinary scope across all genres and artistic fields, the Czech Association of Festivals will continue to be a strong and constructive partner for both the state and the private sector. Only our joint efforts will lead to an improved environment in which top-quality art can thrive,” says Marek Vrabec, the newly elected president of the Czech Association of Festivals.
