In a new festival concept, Katarzia curates a special evening showcasing young woman artists on the Czech and Slovak scene.

Born in 1989, the year of the Velvet Revolution, Kararzia has been an inspiration to a generation of young woman songwriters.  She has recorded 6 studio albums, composed music for The Slovak National Theatre, Cirk La Putyka's production R.I.E. Rest in Euphoria, Jan Hřebejk's TV series Behind the Curtain, and the documentary film My New Face. She has worked with a range of leading Czech and Slovak musicians, including David Koller, Martin Valihora, Jonatán Pastirčák, Aid Kid, Oliver Torr, Petr Ostrouchov, and Vladimír 518.

'At a time when the media and music platforms are largely pushing established big names, it's exceptionally important to shine a spotlight on new young talents. I value this new concept that Prague Sounds has come up with, because it creates an envrironment for the passing-on of know-how, and for fruitful collaboration between different generations of women artists. It's an exceptional project.'

Nika has been playing the piano since she was four and began composing her first pieces at the age of six. Her band consists of drummer Jonáš Bjolek, pianist Pavel Duda, and bassist Nicolas Gatto. In 2023, she won the Junior category at the Jazzfruit Prague competition.

Her debut studio album The Bloom, released in 2021, reflects the beginnings and endings of life stages, featuring lyrics about love, femininity, and youthful uncertainty.
